Everything's Amazing and Nobody's Happy

Technology plays a huge part in my daily life and I'm sure it does in many other people's lives as well. Techonology enhances all the time and so often that we don't notice how greatly it improves. Therefore, it is really easy to take all the great inventions for granted due to the new ones constantly arriving. There is a guarantee that whenever you purchase a new phone, mp3 or computers, something newer and more technologically enhanced will come out shortly. This way, people tend to find their own pieces of techonology old or not good enough. The truth is that people used to live without all these great convenient inventions in the past and we would be able to live without them as well if they were taken away now. However, it will be harder for us to accept life without it's amazing technology. It's not easy to let something great go if you've once had it and been happy with it. Even people with really old phones who want new ones wouldn't want their phone taken away because they would rather have technology of some sort rather than none and having to use dial phones.

I really don't know what else could be invented. Life is fine without whatever future inventions will be created. Life is easy enough when it comes to technology or at least it is not that complicated. Techonology is definitely taken for granted at times but you can't blame anyone. Cell phones are great devices. You can communicate with contacts anywhere because you have a portable phone. Then there's another feature. You can text message a person now and you can receive them as well. There are also many other features such as call display, call waiting, video call and so much more. Due to all these features, we tend to forget about the great privillege and opportunity where we have a phone in the first place.

Knowing my parents lived without computers as children is hard to imagine because now they can use them fairly well and in fact need computers and internet when it comes to their own important work. Then I start to imagine even further back to my grandparents' times who probably used radios and even further and further. It's hard to imagine life without so many different types of techonology that exist today. At the same time, it is hard to imagine how much more enhanced life would become with it's newly invented techonology. I guess that means I like life the way it is considering technology. I can live without the future inventions to come and am too used to live without the technology I use today.

Cell Phone Manners Matter

I think that cell phone use should definitely be taken more into consideration when it comes to other people. When you are using a cell phone, you have to stay aware of your surroundings and the kind of place you are in. If you're in a quiet area like a library, you should be quiet and careful about using a cell phone because people want peace and quiet, not to hear someone chatting away on their phone. In other areas, there may be restrictions to using cell phones. These places might be include a doctor's office. People have to make sure they obey these rules and restrictions because they are important. Using a cell phone in a doctor's office could affect a doctor's concentration. Of course, there are different situations and it is up to you to decide when is an appropriate time.

Often times I see people using cell phones at completely inappropriate times. It is understandable that as technology enhances, a person can easily grow very accustomed to the use of technology, especially convenient cell phones. However, you have to remember that as convenient as your cell phone may be, you still have to consider others depending on the environment you're in. There was once a time when there were no cell phones, so I'm sure that it wouldn't hurt to just turn off your phone when you go to church or the library, or at least put your phone on vibrate or silent mode. There is a reason for why people are asked to turn off their phones when they are in the movie theater. This reason being that it is only respectful towards others if your phone doesn't disturb other viewers while watching the movie.

Cell phones are often a huge distraction. While you're receiving phone calls from your family, friends or employees, you could easily forget that you should be doing something else like work, homework or helping someone out. Cell phones can interfere with what you have right in front of you. You could be talking or texting on your phone, or even on the internet, but you probably have something better to be doing to make use of your time rather than a phone. For your own good, it is important that a student turns off a phone or doesn't get distracted because of it so they can concentrate on the work and people in front of them.

5 Necessary Rules when Using a Cell Phone:

  1. Make sure that the environment you're in is an appropriate one to use a cell phone.
  2. Turn off your phone or put it on silent/vibrate mode so you don't get distracted by your cell phone.
  3. Cell phones should be used if you are expected an call important call, receive an emergency call, or have nothing at all better to do.
  4. If you're on the phone, try not to ignore what you should be doing or the people in front of you.
  5. If you're using a cell phone, don't talk too loud so that others do not get disturbed, upset or distracted.
